Pam Waterman had five years of full-metal braces as a teen, and then one year of tiny bracket-braces as an adult. Inspired by having three teens also go through a braces experience, she authored, along with daughter Brenda, The Braces Cookbook: Recipes You (and Your Orthodontist) Will Love, targeted to children, teens and parents, with recipes, tips, resources and trivia to simplify life in braces. She is also the co-author, along with Chef Amee Hoge, of The Braces Cookbook 2: Comfort Food with a Gourmet Touch, a delicious resource of more recipes and ideas (with mostly main meals) primarily for adults in braces but great for the whole family.
Waterman has been a spokesperson for the American Association of Orthodontists and is a member of Women in Orthodontics. She has written four books and published hundreds of articles on topics in cooking, health, parenting, small business and technology.
