Knowledge is power, as they say. Here are several good articles to share with people considering getting braces, especially as an adult, and for a refresher on the latest techniques in orthodontics.

And, just because my family is stepping into the waters to explore orthognathic (jaw) surgery to correct my 17-year-old’s open bite, here’s a blog I found on the topic: http://www.jawsurgeryblog.com/. There are others I’ve been reading, too. If anyone is interested, email me for more links, at thediscoverybox@earthlink.net.

  1. I remember when I had my brace at the age 23. At first it was uncomfortable and I was afraid that my buddies would know I had the procedure. But then again, I cannot run from it. Now, I already have it on me and my confidence got boosted by my dentist. In St. Petersburg Fl., where I had the procedure, made me realize the positive results of m braces. I do look great with it.
