Sobering Example of Connection Between Dental Health and Overall Health

Here’s a link to a story – extreme case, but true – describing the consequences of not maintaining good dental health: Tooth decay: a serious disease. It’s on a blog by a current dental student who started the blog to identify everyday dental issues, to help him become a better dentist; three cheers for him!

  1. Hi Pamela – Thanks for the kind words. Since I usually update the site about three times per week, that article will be moving off of the front page pretty soon. Here's the permanent link to that article:http://www.oralanswers.com/2010/11/tooth-decay-a-serious-disease/Thanks for sharing it. Keep up the good work on your blog – it's a great place for braces-wearers to learn a lot!

  2. Wow! Thanks for sharing this one. THis reminds me of the sedation dentistry (Raleigh NC-based) that I just visited. There were a couple of dentistry students who were all happy to have their first exposure to sedation dentistry; Raleigh dentists were all glad to see them as well.
