Wow, we see the large-scale devastation on the ground in photos showing the path of a tornado, but may not think much about small items getting carried far away. In the news, a man visiting on the island of Tuckernuck, off the shore of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, found a small plastic zip-bag washed up on shore. It contained an Invisalign aligner (an alternative to traditional metal braces), with address information about the prescribing orthodontist.
Turns out, that aligner belonged to a woman whose house in Brimfield, MA, 100 miles away, had been destroyed by a tornado three weeks ago. Ironically, the man had had his own house in Christ Church, New Zealand, destroyed by that country’s earthquake last February, and is now staying with his Massachusetts friends.
So, I guess she no longer has an excuse not to wear it….
