Smile-activated Vending Machine for Ice Cream

I’ve heard of “sing for your supper” but now Unilever and promotional company SapientNitro have created the concept of “smile for your ice cream.” In June 2010, at the Cannes Film Festival, a smile-activated vending machine debuted that uses facial-recognition software to “measure” a smile, post it (with permission) on Facebook, and then dispense a free ice-cream treat.

The machine was supposed to become an actual product in use in 2011 (Unilever press release); I’m trying to track down whether that has happened or not. Let me know if you hear about one in use!
